Downtown Style

Happy second day of winter!  Today I spent the day downtown at the Chelsea Market and the High Line.  I’ve only ever walked along the High Line during the summer so it was definitely fun to see what it looks like in the winter.

With the cold months officially upon us, I’ve been taking advantage of wearing lots of cute layers.  Since it was pretty chilly in the city, I wore my favorite black mock neck sweater from Brandy Melville.  I paired my sweater with a super warm flannel blanket scarf from J. Crew.  I absolutely love wearing this scarf during the holidays because the red and green pattern just screams Christmas to me.

I paired this outfit with my favorite dark wash skinny jeans and booties from DSW.  Since I was going to be outside for most of the day, I wore my olive parka from a small boutique called Apricot Lane.  I love this coat because it has a second layer on the inside so it keep you warm and blocks out the wind.  The faux fur lining along the hood adds a cozy look to the coat and makes it perfect for winter.

Today I decided to bring my light pink Cedar Street purse from Kate Spade.  This is definitely one of my favorite bags because it fits a good amount of stuff without being too big.  I also love the unique shape of the purse and the light pink color is neutral enough that it goes with almost everything!
