Leopard Loafers and Leather Totes

Yet another beautiful winter day here in Connecticut calls for one thing: a walk along the Saugatuck River in Westport.  This past week was filled with cloudy days and heavy wind, so having a sunny and calm Sunday was a nice treat.  Westport is definitely my favorite place to go to in Fairfield County for a nice walk, fun restaurants, and, of course, shopping!  With all of my favorites stores all on one street, Westport is my go-to shopping day stop.

Today, I decided to take a break from the heavy layers and wear my favorite denim button-up shirt from Talbots (of course I had to wear my parka though, it is still January).  I paired this shirt with my BDG high waisted black jeans.  Ripped black jeans has been a huge trend this winter and I can definitely understand why.  I love the look of black jeans with denim tops, but sometimes I feel a little too preppy.  The rips at the knees add a nice street-style touch to a more classy outfit.  Despite the beautiful sunny day, it was still pretty could outside.  To keep warm, I threw on my cream colored blanket scarf from a small boutique in Fairfield.  This scarf is without a doubt the warmest and softest scarf in my closet.  Not only does it go with every single outfit, it keeps me so warm and cozy.  To add a nice pop to this simple look, I wore my favorite J. Crew Factory leopard print loafers.  Though they’re slightly impractical to wear during the colder months, these shoes look great with any winter outfit.  Once you break them in, they’re very comfortable to walk around in and easy to slide on and off in the dressing room.  My favorite part of this outfit has to be my Madewell tote bag.  I recently picked this up over winter break and I have been obsessed with it since. The size is perfect for everyday use, going out, and even going to class!  I also love how you can get these bags monogrammed; it adds a nice personal touch to a simple bag.

That’s all for today’s post!  Don’t forget to subscribe with your email to receive updates on new posts!

Xoxo,

Jessica
