Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week

For as long as I can remember I have always dreamed of attending fashion week.  I’ve fantasized about walking around with all the models and designers and celebrating the upcoming season’s trends.  Despite living right next to Manhattan, I have never found the time to go to New York Fashion Week.  When I decided to move to Italy I knew right away that I would not allow myself to miss out on Milan Fashion Week.  So this past Friday my friends and I hopped on a train and spent the day in Milan celebrating the artistry behind fashion and design and exploring the beautiful city.  I was even given the opportunity to go backstage with Vogue and watch as they helped set up one of the shows!  Being there in the heart of fashion week was the most incredible experience of my life.  Fashion has always been my passion and I couldn’t be happier now that I was able to experience fashion week.

As you can tell, my fashion week look was centered around the classic all black outfit.  I wanted to keep my look simple yet trendy.  Lately, I’ve been loving all black outfits, especially for the nighttime.  One of my newest additions to my wardrobe is the customized black leather jacket I am wearing for this look.  Florence is known for its leather goods and the best place to go is the Leonardo Leather School.  I’d like to give a huge thanks to the Leather School for helping me find this jacket and monogramming the inside for me.  Everyone there was so helpful and kind and I couldn’t be happier with my jacket.  I absolutely love the blazer style of this jacket and how simple it is.  I personally am not a fan of a lot of bling on leather jackets, so this one was perfect for my taste.  I paired my jacket with a lightweight silk tank top from Zara, my new favorite store here.  Another obsession of mine lately has been these simple, lingerie-like tank tops.  They’re perfect to layer with and I love the feminine touch of the lace.  My black jeans are BDG from Urban Outfitters.  I’m not a huge fan of very distressed jeans, but I do like when jeans have rips just at the knees.  To finish off the look I wore my favorite Madewell sandal heels.  I love these shoes because they dress up an otherwise casual outfit and they’re surprisingly comfortable.  I walked all over Milan this day and by the time I got home my feet didn’t hurt at all!
