A Plaid Cape Scarf for Fall

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…fall!  If you don’t think cozying up in a light sweater and admiring the beautiful and colorful scenery of fall then you need to rethink your priorities.  In my personal opinion, fall beats out every other season by a landslide.  Winter in New England is like the arctic, spring means allergy season, and summers can be too hot.  But fall has the best weather, the best holidays, the best seasonal food, and the best seasonal activities.

For this fall, I’ve been obsessed with huge scarves.  Blanket scarves, cape carves, infinity scarves, I don’t discriminate.  They make you instantly warm without having to wear a bulky and uncomfortable jacket or a sweater that ends up being too heavy.  Here in New England, the weather changes throughout the day.  In the morning and evening it’s very cold but around noon it could heat up to the high 50’s, making layers and essential.  This Madewell plaid cape scarf is perfect for days like that.  Madewell’s selection of cape scarves right now is to die for, they have so many colors and patterns for sale!  I love this cream and maroon one the most.  I paired it with a black long sleeve shirt and charcoal ripped jeans to add an edgy look to the outfit.  To tie back in the light cream/mocha color of the scarf, I wore my open-side booties from Free People.  Just because summer is long gone doesn’t mean summer accessories have to go, I’m still obsessing over this wicker bag I picked up back in August.  I find it adds a fun bohemian look to any outfit.
