Hello everyone! Back again with another style post. I’ve moved back into school for the semester and am just starting to get into the swing of things. Now, while I do have my go-to café at school where I basically spend all of my time, it’s always good to mix things up a bit. Despite being just outside of New Haven, I don’t venture up there that much (unless it’s to go to Pepe’s Pizza). There’s been a lot of buzz about the café Maison Mathis in New Haven, so I decided to check it out! They’re known for (obviously) there great coffee but also their Belgian waffles, which is right up my alley.
Faux fur is a huge trend right now and obviously, I’m a big fan. But let’s be honest for a second, sometimes wearing faux fur can be a little much. I prefer to keep my daily outfits quite minimal––I want to look put together but I don’t want to be over-the-top. So, I’ve come up with an easy way to get in on the faux fur trend without stepping too far out of your comfort zone.
For me, a minimal look requires minimal colors. If I want to wear a statement piece, I like to make sure that the rest of my outfit doesn’t steal the spotlight. Since my faux fur jacket is white, I decided to contrast it with black to make it really pop. I wore a simple black long sleeve tee-shirt that was more of a mid-length. Since my jacket wasn’t too oversized, I decided to go with a pair of mid-wash boyfriend jeans to add a laid-back and loose feel to the look. While I decided to go with a clean look for my jeans, distressed boyfriend jeans would look super cute with this outfit too! As for my shoes, I wore my new favorite black heeled booties to keep up with the more “everyday dressy” style. And of course, what look is complete without my favorite Daniel Wellington watch?! That sums up today’s look! Be sure to keep up with me here and on Instagram @jessmiele for more!
