Winter Street Style

Against popular opinion, I love winter fashion. I have always been one to dress up in the winter, styling cute sweaters and heeled booties on a daily basis. However, this winter I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards more lounge-wear inspired looks. My current favorite fashion trend, maybe even lifestyle trend, for quite some time now has been minimalism. I have spent a great deal of time trying to purge my wardrobe, home, and even my life in general of excess things. Slowly but surely I am working towards only having things I genuinely love around me. With that being said, this season the things I have been loving are oversized sweaters and sweatshirts, leggings, and some sort of boot or sneaker.

Today’s post is going to be a roundup of my favorite winter street style inspired pieces. My current uniform has been a long coat (either this cocoon coat or my Super Puff), black leggings (either liquid leggings or Lululemon Aligns), an oversized sweater/sweatshirt, and my Doc Martens or my Air Force Ones. I used to believe that wearing a sweatshirt every day might make you look lazy, not put-together, and maybe even a little sloppy. Now, I’ve been investing in quality sweatshirts that don’t make me look like I rolled out of bed and didn’t change out of my pajamas and layering those with a very sleek coat.

When it comes to street style, accessorizing is key to dressing up an outfit. I paired this look with my favorite chunky hoops, but this look would easily be dressed up by any sort of statement earring. I also wore my favorite Daniel Wellington watch and bangle and my hexagon Ray-Bans.
