What a year it’s been! To be completely honest, I’ve struggling to find creative inspiration throughout this quarantine––hence why I’ve been MIA. Today I’m back (pretty much exactly where I left off) and here to share with you more winter fashion essentials.
Let’s be honest, we’ve all pretty much exclusively worn sweatsuits in 2020. After moving to Boston in the middle of quarantine, I decided that I would use my weekly walks to Trader Joe’s and trips tp Greystone Cafe in the South End as my chance to dress up a bit. Here’s what I’ve been wearing this winter!
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of leather pants. My personal favorites are the Melina long vegan leather pants from Aritzia (be warned, I pretty much exclusively shop here). While these pants do run on the pricier side, they’re the softest, most comfortable pants I own. Bury me in my Melinas.
Another essential of mine is a lightweight, tight turtle neck. I love layering these under coats, crewnecks, or wearing them on those rare days when it’s not below freezing in Boston––the wind chill is an issue. I love the Wilfred Only Turtle neck in White and Dry Basil Green.
Next up is an oversized sweater, preferably in a mockneck or cowlneck because I’m obsessed. Last winter I discovered the Wilfred Montpellier sweater and fell in love. I literally own it in three different colors and sizes. I recently purchased this sweater in a classic black and I haven’t taken it off since.
If you couldn’t already tell, I like keeping my neck warm. So next on the list is a classic wool scarf. During Black Friday I purchased the Wilfred Classic Wool Scarf in Tannin and it’s like wearing a cozy blanket.
Blazers have probably been my favorite trend of 2020. I absolutely love menswear inspired looks. My favorite blazer in my closet is my Wilfred New Margaux Blazer. It’s the perfect double breasted blazer and it’s thick enough to layer over sweaters on those slightly warmer winter days.
Finally is a classic puffer coat. Last winter I traded in my old Calvin Klein puffer for the TNA Super Puff and, not to be dramatic, it was the best decision of my life. I first purchased the long Super Puff in Modern Taupe. This year, I decided to get the Original Super Puff in Glossy Black. I wanted something to wear during 40 degree weather that wouldn’t make me sweat my a** off like my long one does.
